Jeremiah 31:9 They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.
Have you thought about the fact that you are being watched without your knowledge? Depending on where you live you are watched or photographed numerous times each day. When you walk into a bank a camera catches your image. When you stand in front an ATM you are observed. When you walk down the aisles of Walmart or other Supermarkets your presence is recorded. Many street corners have cameras that take you picture if you enter the intersection too late.
It is estimated that there are over 60 million security cameras active in the United States. It is estimated that most people are caught on camera at least 70 times each day.
Depending on the country you live in, the presence of these security cameras can be a threat, a comfort or something that is just accepted. The very term “security” describing the cameras suggests that they are present for our advantage.
For the Christ follower, we have someone who watches over us each day – all day. It is not someone watching us from an audio visual observation room in a security office. It is the One who watches each detail of creation and is prepared to give guidance and assistance in times of need. He is the One who cares for each of us who love Him and live for Him. He has even prepared a guidance manual for us that will help us in the decisions of our lives.
Our Lord cares, understands, and is always watching over us lest we falter in the way. He is our true source of security as he guides us day by day in our journey with Him.
