Isaiah 25:6-9
Years ago Johnny Carson’s guest for the “Tonight” show was Los Angeles Dodger pitcher Orel Hershiser. Carson commented that he had seen Hershiser singing in the dugout between innings during the World Series game the previous year. He asked the famous pitcher what he had been singing. Hershiser who was a Christian, unashamed of his faith in Jesus Christ told Johnny Carson he would be happy to sing the song that calmed his nerves during the game. While the stunned audience listened he sang, “Praise God from whom all blessing s flow. Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen!”
For a moment all was quiet and then audience burst into applause.
Isaiah tells us of a feast on the mountain and you are invited! Sin will just be a bad memory. Death will be eliminated. Sorrow and tears will be gone.
In that day of rejoicing around the banquet table of heaven there will be rejoicing as we all sing a song the angels cannot sing. “Redeemed – how I love to proclaim it! Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb; Redeemed through His infinite mercy, His child, and forever, I am.”
