Revelation 4:1-3 (2)
An elderly couple who had been careful to eat healthy food and exercise died in a car crash. When they reached the pearly gates, St. Peter showed them their beautiful mansion. When they recovered from their amazed shock, the old man asked Peter how much all this was going to cost. “It’s free,” Peter replied, “this is heaven.”
After finding out that the championship golf course and the lavish buffet lunch at the club house were free, and that he could eat as much as he wanted without gaining weight or getting sick the old man got very angry.
Trying to calm him down, Peter asked what was wrong. The old man looked at his wife and said, “This is all your fault. If it weren’t for your bran muffins and low fat yoghurt, I could have been here ten years ago!” In spite of our preconceived notions regarding heaven we are going to discover that our imagination was not vivid enough to catch a small glimpse of the reality. While we may be looking forward to a grand reunion with loved ones and friends, we are going to be overwhelmed with awe, and adoration when we see Jesus face to face. No revelation of heaven today can forecast the wonder of that day
