Who is in Charge?

Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

As of January 2022 the busiest airport in the world was Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. Over 1,000 flight services operate out of the airport. It has two terminals, seven concourses and 195 gates. It serves as the portal to hundreds of destinations for over 100 million passengers each year. The airport employees more than 60,000 people.

The ordinary citizen sees this, but what he does not see is what is taking place in the air control tower – the tallest in North America and the third tallest in the world. The tower is a beehive of intense activity. Responsible for over a million flights each year the flight controllers carry a heavy responsibility. They must constantly reorganize and adapt their system of processing information by changing operating methods with other controllers, and staff as they endeavor to safely guide a maze of aircraft in an out of the airport without casualty.

This pales in significance when we consider the control God has over His vast array of universes. Not only is He controlling what takes place in space, in the plant kingdom, and the animal kingdom, but He is personally involved in the countless activities, troubles, decisions, wars, and diseases that we grapple with each day.

Millions of people around the globe call upon Him day and night for needs beyond number. He hears each prayer as if it is the only voice speaking at the time. He knows the solution and gives miraculous answers. This thought just touches the surface of our feeble understanding of a sovereign God who is still on the throne.
