Daniel 12:1-3 (3)
More than 2,690 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars are embedded in the sidewalks along 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street in Hollywood, California. They are monuments to the success of entertainers, musicians, actors, directors, and producers. There you can walk on metal stars dedicated to people like Bob Hope, George Burns, Lucille Ball, and even President Donald J Trump. About 20 news stars are added to the walk each year.
Many are in awe of those who receive this honor. But much more honorable and noteworthy are those who God calls stars. They are the ones who lead many into the kingdom of God. They point people to Jesus. They are more than a metal star embedded in the sidewalk for people to walk on. God’s stars alone shine like the stars of heaven.
They are the mothers who patiently teach their children about Jesus every day. They are the fathers who gather the family each evening for devotions. They are the friend who tells his buddies about Jesus. They are the Sunday School teachers who pray for their students to be saved. They are the young couples that go to the mission field to give their lives in sacrificial service for God. They are the pastors who labor faithfully endeavoring to lead their “flock of sheep” into the “fold of heaven.” These are God’s heroes and they shine like the stars.
