Unity is Pleasant

Psalm 133:1-3

Team members are often competitive , not only with their opponents, but also with their teammates. Whether it be sports, or members of a workforce, team members often vie for position, recognition and reward.

A team that has thrilled and inspired thousands with their performance is the Three Singing Tenors, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, and Luciano Pavarotti. It would be natural to wonder which of the men is the best. Which has the highest voice or the greatest range?

This may have been what brought a LA reporter to suggest that there may be strife in their ranks. In answer to the reporter’s prying questions, Domino, speaking for the three said, “You have to put all of your concentration into opening your heart to the music. . . You can’t be rivals when you’re together making music.”.
The love and passion for music holds them firm in their unity of purpose. The love and passion for our Lord should hold us just as firm in our endeavor to accomplish His mission. As we do so, we will know the pleasantness of unity.
